Reasonances launch party in London

My anthology of articles, lectures, essays and more, Reasonances, has now been published and is shipping from the phenomenal publishers Scarlet Imprint. To celebrate, there will be a book launch/party at Atlantis Bookshop in London on November 28th. I will be there and I hope you will too! For more info on the launch party and how to rsvp, please go here! Here’s how Scarlet Imprint describe the project: “Reasonances is an anthology of selected essays, lectures and interviews by occultural pioneer Carl Abrahamsson. A subversive, creative, psychedelic collection of 23 essays spanning thirteen years at the forefront of occulture and magic, followed an interview with the author by Sylvie Walder. The unifying question of this diverse and stimulating collection can perhaps be stated thus: how does magic hack culture? Or perhaps even: what is the role and magic of the artist?    Abrahamsson proposes strategies of engagement that draw from TOPY, Thelema and Satanism, with...

Poetry in digital motion

On this very heavy Halloween night, the great UK label Sombre Soniks releases an album that I’ve made together with Akoustik Timbre Frekuency. It’s called Heated Wanderlust and contains one single flow of gong based drones and some percussive elements. On top of this, or possibly inside it, I read some poetry and texts from the past years. I have to say that it’s one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever worked on. I sent ATF my audio files with recorded poems and that was it. An easy task. But I was so overwhelmed when I started receiving rough mixes of my voice together with his truly beautiful music. It all really works well together. Although the texts are not interrelated at all, they make some kind of new sense here in this dark flow of musical emotions.  This project is, I think, a kind of externalized manifestation of processes that have been going on inside the Cotton Ferox machine/beast for quite some time. I’ve been...

Fanzinera goes to stockholm

The relentless display of photographs from the book Fanzinera will now hit the scene of the crime itself: Stockholm. Between October 15th and November 15th, a selection of images will be displayed at Taverna Brillo, Sturegatan 6 (and Humlegårdsgatan 19). The opening evening will contain some enjoyable highlights: DJ-sets by Leather Nun’s own prime mover Jonas Almquist and The Stomachmouths’ Stefan Kéry. There will also be a screening of some super-8-films I made during that same era: a 25 minute documentation of Blue for Two and Freddie Wadling + a similar kind of film with Union Carbide Productions (23 mins). The book Fanzinera will be available for sale on the opening evening at a special, discounted price. If you can’t make it, the book is also available for sale via the TRAPART site. You are most welcome to travel back in time with me and the images at Taverna Brillo!

Kristina Junzell: Vid Under
