Friday the 12th of December means lecture-time in Skopje, Macedonia. On the following evening, Cotton Ferox will perform at the Skopje Music Conference. Looking forward to visiting the country that is so heavily featured in my novel Mother, Have A Safe Trip!
While having a blast in London recently at the book launch for Reasonances, I also met up with Rune Soup‘s excellent Gordon White. We talked about my life in occulture, doors being opened, intellectual (re)sources, magical mentors, TOPY, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, OTO, Anton LaVey, Reasonances, the museum of magic, arcane languages and many other things for Gordon’s Find the Others series… All in all, a very pleasant conversation! On Saturday the 22nd of November, Cotton Ferox will play in Copenhagen at Mayhem. This in order to celebrate William Burroughs’ centennial. There will be many things going on (please see the flyer for more information). I will talk together with other luminaries about the importance of Burroughs in contemporary occulture and of finding one’s own voice as an author (which he certainly did!). It is very likely that Cotton Ferox will be joined by Rasmus Juel, the eminent trumpet player of Møll & Juel fame! Don’t let your life go to waste. Come see and hear us play and be existentially cut up forever!
Just recently, the French publisher Timeless dropped two very pleasant bombs on the market: a book of Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson’s photography and one of John Balance’s paintings and other artwork, Bright Lights and Cats with no Mouths. This has been like manna from heaven for all Coil aficionados, and is a most welcome contribution to a generally Coil-starved world. And this just in time for Christmas when every decent person should spoil him- or herself (or me)! I haven’t got the proper books yet but have flipped through the digital press-things. It all looks absolutely stunning and I’m convinced that the production and printing are up to normal Timeless standards, i.e. top of the line. That Sleazy was a talented photographer we all know, and to see an assortment of his work/life in such an enticing way is just fantastic. There’s Coum, TG, PTV and of course Coil-related material, but also general portraits, boy...
