Special podcast today: The Fenris Wolf joins forces with Rendering Unconscious to talk about all the crazy many things we have coming up: “This conversation between Carl Abrahamsson and Vanessa Sinclair reveals a rich dialogue between two collaborators deeply engaged in exploring the intersections of occult culture, psychoanalysis, and contemporary society. Carl discusses his long-running project, The Fenris Wolf, which he has been publishing since 1989 as a journal dedicated to what he terms “occulture” – the fascinating intersection where occult practices meet and influence mainstream culture. Now in its 12th issue with a 13th forthcoming, the project has evolved to include a Substack newsletter that provides more frequent content including book reviews, current affairs, and recorded teachings. A great new Eric Kroll book

Just posted a review of Timeless’ exquisite new book by Eric Kroll: HARDCORE… ”Throughout his career, Eric Kroll has published numerous books and contributed significantly to discussions about sexuality in contemporary art. His photographs usually push conventional boundaries while maintaining a respect for his subjects, creating a body of work that is both transgressive and deeply humanistic in its exploration of alternative expressions of intimacy and identity. But these early images of an entire display/world of sordid business and emotions are, for me, his real forte. You can literally feel his own compulsion to pruriently investigate the world behind the crackling neon, colored light bulbs, and sticky floors.” #erickroll #paulschrader #timelesseditions #timeless #anartapart #carlabrahamsson

Are you scared yet?

Do you have your ticket for my new class The Legacy of Horror? ”To begin with horror, one must begin with fear. But to begin with fear is not to begin with hysteria, nor even with fright in the ordinary sense. It is to begin with a primal architecture of the human mind—something more ancient than reason, more foundational than belief. The child who fears the dark does not fear the absence of light; she fears the presence of something imagined within that darkness. The adult who recoils from a corpse does not fear the dead flesh; he fears the suggestion of mortality embodied in that stillness. Fear, in other words, is never merely reactive. It is imaginative.” #morbidanatomy #thelegacyofhorror #occulture #carlabrahamsson
