OVERVIEW:

The Western mind-frame/culture often creates an unnecessary divide between the “rational” and “irrational” minds – no doubt a result of convenient over-simplification stemming from early 20th century attraction to and fetishization of scientific models. Much of this can be made redundant by looking at epistemology through an arc of occulturation: ideas grow in the hidden, enter a twilight (preliminary) zone and are then birthed into a visible, tangible sphere of evaluation and use. In this talk, I will look at the terms and phenomena throughout history, and suggest how they can be applied today in various disciplines.
