Some synaptics on tempo-spatial residue

Many moons ago, I embarked on psychodramatic journeys together with fellow magicians. We believed we could change the world of the past so that the future of our present time (and beyond) would be somehow different. Brave attempts, I have to say!

But how can one ever really discern or find out what’s what in a web so intricate and prone to ultra-subjectivism, linear thinking, and causal comforts?

If I focus on a point in time and space that the rational consensus mafia deems ”past” and I (re)enact it with full conviction, determination, and intent in order to change the point in and to its very core for it to bloom in a ”different” way, what are the odds that anyone will even notice?

It actually may not be so far out as it seems… I can hide these seemingly ludicrous concepts by wrapping myself in the parallel universes of quantum physics. I can wrap myself in conscious or unconscious history revisionism. I can wrap myself in all the subjective relativity of a postmodern discourse gradually sinking into a pre-apocalyptic chaos. And I can also of course consciously seek solace and order within Chaos Magic, boldly claiming that ”nothing is true” and that, therefore, ”everything is permitted” (weird logic, but we must ascribe that to the extremely stoned mind-frames of Hassan-i-Sabbah and his latter day devotees like William Burroughs & Brion Gysin).

It’s not a concept to take likely of course, because like in materialist forensics, whatever we do leaves traces that are strongly linked to our core being. If we boldly go about changing the past for whatever reason we deem appropriate in our Mickey Mouse-reasonings, the magical DNA will absolutely be traceable to and in the future – for those who know how to connect the cosmic dots, that is.

One good definition of basic existence proper is simply that we all leave residue. I would argue here that we not only leave it ”behind” but to an equal degree ”in front.” Most leave very faint traces, and are probably happy with that. But the cunning strategists of selfishness – altruistic or not – can never really escape their own works. And especially not if they’re actively trying to brush any kind of dirt under the rug.

The cosmic dot connectors cannot help but reveal what’s been hidden, and especially what’s been hidden in desperation and conceit. Are the dot connectors perhaps inherently Karma’s active police force? That is, if we accept Karma as something more definite than just another kooky human concept to keep people in the assembly line of supposed civilization?

I am presently undecided, and am not sure whether I once wasn’t. I changed many things in the past: some right there and then, and some much, much later. The most appropriate description would perhaps be to say that I not only wrote the original script, but also edited it at a much later date. And after its initial publication I may have altered further things for future editions, as well as in secret and silent readings of the original. But, again, that’s not the main concern; that would rather be: ”How are others reacting to constructed discrepancies in the apparently linear communication that helps them build their worldview?”

Well… ”I’ll be damned if I know!”

The moral compass seemingly always points to the soul.
