We are all travellers here. Destinies, destinations, desiderations and desires may vary but ultimately we all move on. Attempting to go either to or from makes for a full life story. Some are pushed and some push. Most of us live in a mix and move in many directions at the same time, and yet we always exist in the center of our own attention. The outside circumstances may change (and they do) but wherever we are, we are looking out from the inside; the eye of the storm is always calm. Some want to escape and run from, and others to escape but run to. No matter what, it is a solitary affair, where drives and forces we don’t fully understand move us like pieces on a board. To cope, we call it destiny or God or some other higher power. We make ends meet and virtues out of necessities, content that we haven’t been pushed harder or, if we have, content that we still haven’t been pushed over the edge. Occasionally, very rarely, do we find a fellow traveller with whom we can actually travel. Togetherness. Proximity. Silence. Resonance. Whether at a luxury hotel, ridiculously anachronistic in abundance, or in the filthiest squalor, nothing needs to be said. Everything is enjoyed. On our own, we would be critical; mindlessly indulgent in luxury or revolted by filth. The fellow travellers experience no such thing. Everything is a casual breeze through facets of the same common stone; transparent, yet creating new prisms that color existence in saturated shades of fascination. Fellow travellers create a third mind, a third soul; the gateway of a deeper understanding of life itself. Whether still or moving, the fellow travellers experience the journey in ways that enhance their lives. Not as tourists who can never fully explore because their noses are rubbing the maps, and whose lives are pushed by redundant forces. But as fellow travellers who see as one new soul, guided by intuition, a love of life and a life of love. It doesn’t take much. First you have to be willing to travel. To explore, and to enjoy whatever whim a critical mind would negate. When you do, you are. And when you are, you shine and communicate in mysterious ways. And when you do that, a fellow traveller appears. Savour that moment, because it’s a rare and precious thing. As is your fellow traveller. Safe journeys!
