FILM

I’ve written many times about how fiction is now a larger part of life than fact is. Fiction is the new fact. Perhaps it’s not surprising that that is my point of view, as I’ve probably seen too many movies and read too many books. Early on in life, I was hooked on movies. I’ve allowed that obsession to remain. And, as with my musical interest, I decided at some point to go from impressions to expressions.

Although filmmaking is considerably more complicated than writing, it’s usually worth the while because the impact is greater. But I’ve never wanted to work on movies with too many people. I’ve always enjoyed working on my own. Suffice to say then that the few films I’ve made so far pretty much reflect that. Solitary meditations or fantasies rather than elaborate story-telling.

In 2013, I decided to up the ante a bit, and am now working together with some truly talented people on a series of documentaries/artists’ portraits called An Art Apart.
