Carl Abrahamsson – News

On the 10th of December 2011, I will take part in a panel on art and the esoteric together with Fredrik Söderberg and Gary Lachman. This will take place at Gasworks in London.

On November 1st 2011, me and my American friend Thomas Bailey launched an online magazine called Grounded Magnet. The idea or vision is to create an online archive of interviews with cultural movers and shakers, articles, reviews, essays etc. Please drop by and sign up for our newsletter! Thanks!

I have some photographs in the group show "Yes... Fab & Kinky – Focus on Genesis Breyer P-Orridge" at Sakamoto Contemprary in Berlin, Germany. The exhibition will run until April 23rd, 2011.

[110313]

Continual updates will be posted at The Fenris Wolf site from now on. Partly to meet the interest that the new issue of The Fenris Wolf has generated – it will be published on April 30th, 2011 – and partly to dive deep into my archives material-wise and present stuff that hasn't been seen or read before. The book will continue to cover metaphysical and philosophical areas of interest and the site will be slightly more culturally oriented, with interviews, articles and reviews. I hope they will complement each other well. Please drop by from time to time.

The following text was written by Gustav Svihus Borgersen for the exhibition "Döden i våra hjärtan" in Trondheim:

Carl Abrahamsson ”Döden i våra hjärtan”. Babel Visningsrom for Kunst, 18. feb. – 6. mars 2011

Band som Union Carbide Productions, Lädernunnan, Blue For Two, Sonic Youth, Hüsker Du, Gun Club, The Cramps, Godfathers, Stomachmouths, Creeps, Pushtwangers, Nomads, Scientists, The Saints, The Church, Sort Sol, The Shamen, Psychic TV och artister som Iggy Pop, Alex Chilton, Lydia Lunch, Richard Kern, Screamin' Jay Hawkins och Legendary Stardust Cowboy passerade alla revy framför Abrahamssons kamera.

The wonderful publishers Scarlet Imprint have released a new stunning volume: "XVI – Bringing down the house of God". "XVI" seeks to raise magickal awareness of the unique times we find ourselves in, whilst being open to the resourcefulness and indominatable nature of the human spirit to find solutions and responses to it. This is magick attuned to the zeitgeist. I'm very happy and proud to be included in this impressive anthology. Other contributors: John Michael Greer, Ramsey Dukes, Eric K Lerner, Raven Caldera, Michael Idehall, Peter Grey, Dr George J Sieg, James Wasserman, Hafiz Batin, Dr Dave Evans/FrancisBreakspear, Stephen Grasso, Kyle Fite, Julian Vayne, Orryelle Defenestrate Bascule, Peter J Carroll and Alkistis Dimech. Norway, beware! On May 27th, I will host a screening of "Back to human nature!" at Forum Nidrosiae, Nova sal 3, Cicignons plass in Trondheim. 9 pm- ?. On the following evening, May 28th, it's lecture time: "Contemporary timelessness – Eternal trends", at KIT, Kunst og Fellesskapets Rom, entrance at the corner of Kirkegata and Gyldenløvsgate in Trondheim. 6.30-8 pm. A talk on art in relation to cosmic currents, individual will and to a fragmented contemporary culture. Does art need to be talismanic or magical in order to have a substantial human value? Come and be enlightened by the films and listen to some high-strung cosmic art theory!

The wonderful film program "Back to human nature!" has now been released on DVD by Njutafilms. Magical and psychedelic films by Fetish 23, Halo Manash, Christine Ödlund, Nadine Byrne and Gustaf Broms – Please don't miss them! Different artists deal with the preapocalyptic currents of our culture in different ways. Some choose to accept the technologically utopian dreams imposed on us by market forces. Others prefer a more primordial, spiritual approach of wisdom and intuitive behaviour. ”Back to human nature!” displays the work of five Scandinavian filmmakers drawn to this intuitive approach. Available through SUBDVD. Get your copy today!

Edda Grammofon release two new albums on CD by Cotton Ferox (& friends) today. They are exclusively available through edda.se.

- Cotton Ferox & Sylvie Walder: "Elementen"
A collaboration between CF and brilliant French artist Sylvie Walder. Five tracks sweeping through subconscious apprehensions of nature. Organic strategies in electronic (dis)guises with some penetrating and sonorously seductive seedsowing for the future. Echological dark ambient at its finest!

An intense live jam recorded in St. Petersburg during CF's 2007 Russian tour. Eerie, dark, Russian, Swedish, psychedelic, emotional, evocative... Et cetera. A free-flowing and colourful mind expansion in the sparkling encounter between two cultures and six heads.

These records are released in a limited edition of 100 numbered copies, so it might be a good idea to order your copies soon. Thank you!

Wow!
